November in Summerland

Meet Brandi Little. She has lived in the South Okanagan Valley, known as a resort destination, for over 20 years now and cannot wait to show just what the area has to offer! She is committed to helping you on your next real estate journey, whether that is finding your dream home in the South Okanagan or helping you to market your home to buyers that will love it as much as you do.

Ah, November weather, blustery snow, and cooler temperatures. What to do? This weather gets me nostalgic for Christmas and all the things that come with it. Nothing like digging out those boxes under the stairs to see what they contain and the memories each item holds while sipping an eggnog drink.

November is passing quickly already, and after the extended summer with beautiful fall weather we were so fortunate to have, the cold has set in. The trees and plants that never had a chance to die or shed their leaves, sit covered in snow. The birds still chirp and search for food as some of them seemed to have missed their migration.

We, however, are bustling around, now eager for the Christmas feels. I have already convinced my husband to set up the outdoor Christmas lights and let me get the tree up early. I can’t help it…

This summer we welcomed a kitten to the family, and he’s already decided the tree was a gift to him! We chose NOT to hang all the precious ornaments the kids made or collected over the years and kept it simple and unbreakable. That kitten (Lennie) LOVES the tree and everything sparkly about it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve chased him out of the tree already, and it hasn’t even been up for a week! Fingers crossed he doesn’t climb to the top and knock the darn thing over.

On another note, Summerland’s Festival of the Lights is right around the corner, as well as the annual Light up the Vines with all the participating wineries, cideries and distilleries! I can’t wait to see all the decorations and events each one offers!

I hope you all stay tuned to my social media feeds- Facebook and Instagram for updates on local events as well as kitten and Christmas tree updates 😉
